The Berth Wood trig point was a quick, uninteresting roadside bag if I’m honest!
Parked in a sort of lay-by thing just after Broad Oak Garage and from there it was a quick three quarters of a mile jaunt up the road from there to a gate.
The only thing of interest on the way were some inquisitive sheep!
A gate made that little more interesting as the was a field of alpacas inside!
However, the gate was locked and it was semi climb-proofed.
This obviously meant I wasn’t supposed to enter but the Berth Wood trig point was just to the left. It was right there! So, I nipped over the gate and immediately left the hedgerow terminated leaving a waist-high fence… Topped with barbed wire. Another indicator I wasn’t supposed to be going into here either!
However I wasn’t leaving until it was properly bagged! I hopped over the fence but was careful not to damage anything or leave a mark anywhere. I grabbed a car mat to place over the barbed wire – just as a precaution. Worth taking along with you if it seems off-putting to hop over without some protection!
The Berth Wood trig point looked a little neglected but I didn’t want to spend any longer than I needed to so as not to upset the land-owner.
By now the activity had attracted the attention of the alpacas so grabbed a quick photo before I left before anyone could take objection. Back down the road – job done.
Trig point 6 (however not the 6th!) bagged! Check out all the Herefordshire trig points I’ve bagged here!
