Well, the Bonnylands trig point. Well, well, well… Ummm… Just trying to think of some things to say about this one!
…It’s a roadside bag that’s for sure, head up the single track lane, go through the gate and drive right up to the trig pillar.
…Ummm… Views aren’t bad… In the one direction at least!
Some not so good points about the Bonnylands trig point bag…
The roads to get there… Jeez! Horrible! Narrow, unforgiving, overgrown, muddy, potholes, sorry, craters everywhere. Roads built for 4x4s that’s for sure! Lane to reach the the trig point… Even worse! At least there’s room at the top to spin the car around at the top.
Unfortunately, the trig point sits right next to a mast. It’s a bit of an eyesore!
I think I’ve exhausted everything I can conjure up about this one. It wasn’t a great bag! The mast did add a little something different – it just wasn’t pretty! Wasn’t particularly nice to get to either, so I doubled this one up with the Urishay Common trig point bag. It was nearby, along similarly shit roads, so why not. Get these two unpleasant ones out of the way in one go!
I only encountered the odd car or two… On both occasions I found myself backing up to a passing point only to discover that the ‘local’ decided they weren’t worthy to back up a yard or two to a passing place right by them, therefore making me snake backwards while at the same time drive right in front of me. Pressure! Cheers for that… NOT! Keen to get off the horrible lanes! After that, I then encountered a ram and a ewe trotting down the same lane! Would not get out of the way! I did eventually squeeze by, however, there was certainly an air of entitlement with both the locals and the animals it seems.
Glad I won’t have to ever go back to these places for anything ever again! Bonnylands trig point bagged!
Short and sweet one this one. However, If you still need more trig point bag fixes, check out my many other bags here. As always, a follow on Instagram is greatly appreciated if you found any of the blogs entertaining or useful.
Finally, thanks as always for reading!
