Next up to be bagged was the New Croft trig point.
For the trip to find the New Croft trig point, I parked at Llanwarne car park (postcode: HR2 8JE) just to the side of St John’s Church.
It was early on a Sunday morning so it was empty. I headed up the road to the junction to the main road (B4348) after a left hand bend in the lane. From here, I took a right down to where there was a T-junction with Yew Lane.
There’s no need to go down the lane, leaving 2 other options – an access road and a driveway with a cattle grid to keep in a few bulls!
I took the access road, a muddy track that tractors took looking at the tracks! From here, it opened up into a big field. I followed the edge of the field to the left turn at the house / chicken factory place.
Along this section, there was a gap in the hedge on the right. After that, I headed into a different field with broccoli and sprouts.
The hedgerow was on my left and as I headed up to a telegraph pole.
I saw the trig point although pretty well hidden in the hedgerow. However, I couldn’t touch it, so looked for a route to get to the otherside of the hedge.
There was an opening in the hedge for agricultural vehicles.
I went through and doubled back to the telegraph pole where the New Croft trig point was a little less obscured and a little more accessible!
New Croft trig point bagged! That’s number 3 of 70!
It was back the way I came, however, the only thing different on the way back was the cows had moved up the field to have their breakfast!
Thanks for reading! Check out every trig point I’ve bagged so far here!
