The Priory Wood trig point bag was another fairly easy one.
I picked a lovely day for it – sun was out, skies were blue and fortunately the rain we’d had all week had buggered off! For this one, I parked by a couple of houses just off a triangular junction.
To start with, I had to double back to the junction and follow the road to the left and at the top of the hill, there was a little turn off. It was part of the Wye Valley Walk route that I’d come across on some previous trig bags, one of which includes the Park Croft trig point. If you have kids, this is a good one to let them tag along.
Only a mile of walking… And there’s a little park en-route too!
To access the field that the Priory Wood trig point is in you have to follow the trail then follow the adjoining road. Head down to a bench and take a right through the gate into the field. The trig pillar is just in front of the dividing hedge.
Spring had definitely sprung as the lanes were lined with daffodils.
There was also a field of rowdy sheep with their lambs too! However, typically, as I went to take a picture, they all ran off and stared back at me!
Again, not much to this one and the Priory Wood trig point was looking a little neglected. However, it still had its top!
Decent views and I was even joined by a chap on horseback using the same track.
