The Upper Heath trig point bag is an easy roadside bag. Not much to say about this one so I’ll keep it short and sweet!
There’s a gate as you turn into the junction off the A4112. Here’s is a screenshot from Google Street View.
The gate was closed and there was no farm traffic as suggested in the image when I bagged this one in March. Plus, the Upper Heath trig point is a quick sprint up the road so you’ll only be gone a few minutes anyway! Not long enough to obstruct or upset any farmers!
Anyway, head left and back up the road – you can’t miss it! Below is another screenshot from Google Street View and you can just about see the trig pillar through the hedge.
However, if you’re thinking how do you access the field – don’t worry! Somebody has kindly removed that section of hedge so you can access the field and the trig point from the roadside!
Google Maps always has a habit of providing me with outdated satellite images and Street View imagery so bagging these trig points does keep me on my toes! I didn’t even notice this one when I was using Google to find somewhere nearby to park!
Upper Heath trig point bagged.
Views aren’t bad if you have your back to the A-road. Pretty easy but uninteresting one this but if your short on time, there’s this one along with Berth Wood, Burghill and Cockyard Tump which are all quick and easy roadside bags.
I’ve kept a comprehensive log of all my Herefordshire trig bags so far here. All in alphabetical order for ease – updated weekly! I’ve also kept a visual log over on Instagram. If you like what you see do give me a follow and I’ll follow you back!
