The Ward Hill trig point bag saw me head along the Worcester Road for a double header trig bag! This one and the Hill Farm trig point were only a couple of miles from each other, so made sense to bag them both at the same time! Both were around the Fromes Hill area so there was plenty to see and do to make a day of it.
Ward Hill was a quick bag. I parked at The Major’s Arms on Snails Bank early on a Sunday. It doesn’t open until midday so I wasn’t intruding!
I headed down past the pub and there’s a footpath marked on the right. Hop over the stile and follow the trail.
The trail is pretty overgrown in places and is uphill all the way to another stile into a field.
Hop over this one and I headed left into another field.
The trail went back into a wooded area. The trail veers left then there’s a metal gate on a latch which leads into a meadow with the trig pillar.
It was pretty overgrown! Having bagged this in early June, I wonder if the grass would get even longer – which would make finding the trig pillar a bit more difficult!
However, there was the Ward Hill trig point!
Nestled in the tall grass with outstanding views!
It was a lovely day… But shorts in that long grass with prickles and nettles – not a good choice. Legs were in bits!
Back the way I came to the Major’s Arms and onto the Hill Farm trig point where I parked at the Fromes Hill trading estate. Check out that write up here.
Also, I follow everyone back on Instagram. If you’d like to connect on there, that would be awesome!
