Navigating the world of customer service can often be a labyrinth of frustration, especially when dealing with technical issues in our beloved gadgets. However, my recent experience with the Coros Support Team, specifically Megan and Charlie, transformed my perception of customer care into a refreshingly positive encounter.
When my Coros Apex watch began facing charging issues, I reached out to the support team hoping for a simple fix. Without hesitation, Megan and Charlie guided me through various troubleshooting steps and, when those attempts didn’t resolve the issue, they generously provided a replacement charger cable. Their swift and understanding responses made the process seamless and stress-free.
Unfortunately, the problem persisted, but here’s where Coros truly shone. Recognising the inconvenience, the team did not only replace my device but upgraded me to the new Coros Apex 2. This gesture of goodwill and commitment to customer satisfaction deeply impressed me. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Megan, Charlie, and the entire Coros team for their exemplary service and dedication. It’s rare to see a company that stands so firmly behind its products.
Review and Comparison: Coros Apex 1 vs. Coros Apex 2
Design & Build Quality
The original Coros Apex was a marvel in its own right with a sleek, durable design ideal for both everyday wear and the rigors of outdoor activities. The Apex 2 retains this ethos but with notable enhancements. The Apex 2 feels more robust and refined, with a slightly larger display that offers better clarity and easier navigation through its enriched interface. One significant difference is that the Apex 1 had a silicone strap, and the Apex 2 has a nylon Velcro strap.
Performance & Features
The Apex 1 was no slouch in performance, providing comprehensive tracking features that catered well to runners, cyclists and multisport athletes. However, the Apex 2 elevates the experience with a faster processor, improving the responsiveness and smoothness of navigating through menus and apps. Battery life, a strong point of the Apex 1, remains impressive in the Apex 2, but with enhanced optimisation that seems to squeeze out more from every charge.
Software & User Interface
While both watches offer the intuitive Coros experience, the Apex 2 introduces a more polished software environment with additional customization options and new features. These include an upgraded heart rate sensor, a built-in temperature sensor, and a more detailed approach to workout analysis, which are significant boons for any athlete focused on detailed metrics and performance improvement.
Final Thoughts
Upgrading from the Coros Apex 1 to the Apex 2 has been a great journey so far. The new features and improvements reflect Coros’ commitment to innovation and user-focused enhancements. While the Apex 1 is a fantastic device, the Apex 2 is a testament to how small changes can make a significant impact on overall user experience. Hopefully it will serve me as well as the Apex did, especially during the Epona 100 in June 2024!
In conclusion, my adventure with Coros’ products and their customer support – especially the excellent Megan Charlie – has been overwhelmingly positive. The quality of both the service and the products like the Coros Apex 2 makes me a proud advocate for Coros. To anyone in the market for a reliable, feature-rich sports watch, the Coros Apex series deserves your attention. Highly recommended!
