The Cae Tack trig point bag was a nice easy mile out and back up and down a hill, surprisingly! There’s a huge gravel turn into a driveway almost exactly opposite the footpath.
Much bigger than it appears on the outdated Google Map that I scoped out. That was a pleasant surprise! After the Lower Hegdon trig point bag, where the space in front of the gate no longer existed, I’ve gotten a bit anxious about where to park lately! Quite the opposite with this one!
Respectfully skirting the edges of the field, the trail appeared and disappeared in places. The first field was full of tall wheat, the rest were mowed and muck was recently spread on them.
Anyway, the first stile was a little overgrown. Not normally a problem, but the overgrown vegetation consisted of brambles and nettles. Long grass and wheat, now this – the shorts were beginning to look like an unwise choice!
However, the rest was plain sailing! Fairly freshly cut grass fields with a sprinkling of muck. Over another weird stile-bridge thing!
Another easy cut-grass field and another stile.
Next field has an open gate then two more gates, one to the left and one to the right – with a stile.
Head over the one on the right, then follow the edge of the field around to the left.
There’s another gate – likely open as it was for me – head through.
Then simply follow the hedge to the right and there it is…
The Cae Tack trig point!
The fields are all one big cow field – all the gates are already open so they’re roaming free.
Another one in the bag – not many more to go now. Check out all my other bags to date here. Check out my visual journal on Instagram here too. I’ll always follow back!
