Gold Hill Trig Point

The Gold Hill trig point is what I’d class as a roadside bag. Turning off the B4214 just before Fromes Hill, there’s another right turn down a lane. A little way down this late is a gate to a field. The gate is part of a public footpath, however the signs have been a bit beat up! Signs destroyed and knocked over. The entrance gate bent on top. Somebody went a bit mad here!

Nonetheless, there’s room for a car or two at the entrance gate. You only have to nip to the left up the top by the trees so nobody is going to get upset about you parking there. If they do, that’s not my fault! It took me minutes to bag the Gold Hill trig point so I didn’t overstay my welcome.

The field is home to cows. There were numerous fresh cow pats everywhere – but no cows. There were some in a neighbouring field. If, like me, you’re not keen on cows (I mean, how ever docile they are, they’re big and terrifying!) bear that in mind.

There’s a little well-trodden track around the field to the top. I followed this on the way back down. they way up, as usual, made a bee line to the summit!

Some nice views but other that being a quick, easy roadside bag, not much to write home about the Gold Hill trig point bag.

However, they all count and I’ve got to bag them all!

If you’re hungry for more, do check out my other Herefordshire trig point bags here. If, on the other hand, you’re specifically looking for roadside bags, search for the ‘Roadside Bag’ tags to find all the quick, easy ones in the same place.

That’s it for this one, check out my visual journal over on Instagram if you get a second. Thank you!
