For the Hill Barn trig point, I parked at a cool little café called the Watering Hole. Obviously popular with bikers as there was a few there. It was early so I imagine there would be more once I got back! Since I was parking there, I popped in and grabbed a coffee.
From here, I headed back out on foot and headed left. The track was signposted ‘Private Road’ so after my experience at White House Farm previously, I prepared myself to do some sweet talking before being chased!
Anyway, I continued up the road. I could hear the hum of farm machinery up ahead. I knew that they’d probably clock me before I got close so they could do me a favour by coming to me to see what I was up to!
Heading through the farmyard, I was greeted but loads of friendly dogs! Still looking for someone to ask if what I was doing was OK. Till nothing so I carried on.
Shortly after passing more farm buildings, I could hear a piece of heavy-duty equipment slowly following me up the track. Bit awkward as I didn’t know if he was after me or legit going that way too! I hopped on the verge to let him by and at that point, he quizzed me. Albeit it in a way more friendly manner than the farmer at the White House Farm trig bag!
The young chap pointed the way – through a gate into a field with two horses in it. All I had to do was nip up the hill and job done.
Hill Barn trig point bagged!
An easy half to three-quarters of a mile jaunt up from the Watering Hole café. A helpful, unobjective and friendly farmer to point me in the direction – job done!
