The Lower Hegdon trig point is definitely a roadside bag! I did plan on parking at the entrance to the field in front of the gate. Knowing it would take minutes at most to bag. However, in real life, when I got to the gate, there was definitely no room for a vehicle of ANY kind to pull up in. Furthermore, there was a massive hole freshly dug where I was going to park up!
Fortunately, there were two passing points along the lane, opposite one another. I parked up on the one on the right as tight as I could. It was only a couple of metres back from the gate. There was nowhere else!
Only passed one other vehicle, a rider on horseback and after that a cyclist so it was pretty quiet.
Through the already open gate into the field and skirting the recently ploughed field to reach the Lower Hegdon trig point.
Not sure where Higher Hegdon would be as I was already pretty high up at Lower Hegdon!
You can even see the Lower Hegdon trig point from the gate, standing proud. A quik jaunt upthe slope to bag it and job done. That’s all there is for this one! Views were nice on a summer’s day in late June. Handy bit of improvised parking made this one a breeze and a certified roadside bag.
