For the Park Croft trig point bag, I headed to Breinton Manor Farm Shop. Plan was to have a look, grab some supplies and head out over the back to the trig point. However, never assume anywhere is open on a Sunday! Got there and it was closed, so tucked into the turn off to the farm shop and headed up past it.
As always, I could see the high point so just made my way in that direction. Over a gate in to field (watch for the electric fence inside of that field!) and over another into what looked like an orchard with sheep and lambs. I headed along the hedgerow on my right to another gate. I continued around the edge of the field and knew it was around there somewhere.
…And there it was, the Park Croft trig point!
Beautifully maintained – painted a brilliant white! However, it was in the opposite field. I continued along the edge of the field and at the bottom there was a gate into the field I needed to be in.
headed through and up and there it was – glowing in the sunshine! Despite the top plate missing, this is easily the trig pillar in the best condition I have seen. Well done whoever took the time to tidy it up and the surrounding hedgerow! Made it a breeze to spot!
Another one in the bag! Once again, headed back the way I came only to be greeted by the farm shop manager. I must’ve triggered a security warning so he came to see what was going on! Wasn’t hostile, in fact was super friendly! I explained I had intended on visiting the farm shop but as it was closed (error on my part) I thought nobody would mind if I pulled in out front to bag the trig point.
He was cool and obviously I wasn’t the first to have done this!
Another one to add to my list – see the other trig points I’ve bagged here. If you’re on Instagram, follow me here and I’ll follow you back! As always, thanks for reading!
