I scoped out The Riddox trig point on Google Maps, as I do with all my trig point bags. For instance, seeing where I need to head on the satellite view, where I can, I head into Streetview to see what the roads or lanes are like… And where to park.
As I navigated up this lane, I found an enormous place to pull in in front of a big farm building. I could check off somewhere to dump the car, next up was how to navigate to the trig point. As I checked the OS Maps app, I was a little confused. Somehow, pure coincidentally, I parked where The Riddox trig point was. Eh?
However, back into Streetview and I felt like a right idiot. I hadn’t even noticed that the trig pillar was right there… At the pull-in! Oddest one yet! It was literally right there!
However, to get there, you had to go up a nasty, narrow and muddy lane. Fortunately I didn’t encounter an oncoming vehicle. If you follow this route, good luck! If you do encounter a vehicle… Panic!
I left the car running, which was a first so far with the trig point bags to date! Hopped out the car, dodged as much mud as I could and bagged The Riddox trig point!
During all this, three collies got extremely excitable. Guess they don’t get many visitors – especially trig baggers! A chap even appeared to see what all the barking was about! Didn’t get the whole trig point bagging thing, but had no issue with me bagging The Riddox trig point.
However, all I could think about then was getting back down that lane without encountering another vehicle!
This was kind of a roadside bag too. The only one I could leave the car running for to date anyway! You can see The Riddox trig point on Google Streetview!
Not a very interesting or glamorous one – but another Herefordshire trig point in the bag! Check out the other trig bags here!
Thank you for reading, and above all a special thank you if you’re following me on Instagram! Appreciate it!
