For the Adzor Bank trig point bag, I parked at the top of Mill Lane in Wellington village (postcode: HR4 8AS).
It was about a mile away from the trig pillar itself. It was a lovely morning for a walk though. Sun was shining, it wasn’t wet and not too cold either. I headed down the road past the Christmas trees (!) and on the left was a track going up to a gate.
It was the most direct route to get to the summit. The plan was to walk along the ridge until I eventually would spot the Adzor Bank trig point.
There were a few more gates to tackle into a field of sheep and an old roofless building with some old ironworks in which was something other than trees and sheep to look at!
…And there it was – the Adzor Bank trig point!
However I was in the wrong field but there was a gate into the field that it was sat in! An easy one to bag with a nice walk on a nice winter’s day.
The uphills were pretty hard-going – proper calf burners them! My route-planning and navigational prep work proved fruitful this time – not like the trig bag at Burghill! Head for the ridge then follow it. Easy peasey! Views were pretty good too. This bag was a good one. Nice walk, some fun inclines to work the calves too!
